Tamworth Dent Repair

Seat Leon Wing Dent Repair

This is basically what happens if you drop a battery charger on to a seat leon wing!!

Luckily for this customer we had good access to the back of this damaged wing to ease the dent back out with our dent tools, wings aren't too bad to repair in general as they are a single skin bolted on panel with good access. The rear wings/1/4 panels are a different story as most have very little access and are double skinned making the repair very difficult and sometimes impossible.

In this shot you can see the depth of the damage to the wing.

Audi A5 S-Line repaired in Lichfield, Staffordshire

Here is an Audi A5 S-Line that has been wrapped in a chamo matt wrap, the Audi had sustained a pin dent in the rear 1/4 panel and it was up to us at Dent Reverse to remove it without damaging the wrap/film. Removing this dent wasn't easy as the matt finish on this car made it extremely difficult to see the detail in the panel to remove the pin dent. We had to wrap a clear gloss film over the top of this dent to enable us to se the dent properly and remove it, we were able to gain access through the rear light cluster on this vehicle and had full access to the ear of the panel and remove this dent 100%,

PDR Training

PDR Training

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but i have been away training students in  Paintless Dent Removal (PDR).

PDR is of such a high skill level that the pass rate for people actually completing a training course and making it into the real world out on the road is incredibly low. My students will have to go away and practice what they have been taught on scrap panels at home for hundreds of hours before they are even close to removing a small basic trolley dent. Some people practice for years after trraining and still don't get there so it shows how hard this skill is to learn. I wish them all the luck in the world anyway and hope to see them out there one day doing what they have trained so hard for and invested lots of their time and money in.

If you are interested in PDR training then feel free to get in touch with us.

BMW Z4 1/4 Panel Damage

BMW Z4 1/4 Panel Damage

The damage above was caused by a wheelie bin

Usually damage like this on a 1/4 panel can be extremely difficult to repair, luckily for this BMW owner the Z4 has a single skinned 1/4 panel meaning there is access to the rear of the dent whereas many cars have a double skinned arch with very little access to push the dent out.

This repair took around 2 hours to complete using only a handful of tools, i used a dent rod with an ultra soft tip on to push the bulk of the dent out and then swapped to a smaller harder tip to complete the finer detail in the body line. I have taken a picture midway through the repair to show the progress..

Notice the high points in the panel where i have been pushing the dent out, these will get removed at regular intervals throughout the repair process using a hammer and tap down tool as picture below..

Hammer with soft tip and root beer tap down tool.

After a couple of hours of pushing the dent out and tapping the high spots in this repair came out pretty well and certainly saved the customer a costly bodyshop repair.

The tool you can see on the boot in this picture is actually a suction tool for holding my umbrella as it rained on and off throughout this repair and i use it to keep the rain off the panel so i can see what i am doing.

This dent repair was carried out in Aldridge, Walsall.

Mobile Dent Removal In Walsall

Mazda 6 Tailgate  Dent Removal

Well i headed over to Walsall this morning to take on this bit of a challenge..

This is one of those jobs where you never know how its going to go, sometimes in pdr things dont go to plan and you can come across all sorts of problems like impact bars, inner frame work, sound deadening pads, no access for tools etc etc. As it happens this wasnt too bad, after removing the boot trim i found there was a significant amount of sound deadening bonded to the rear of this panel but a little bit of heat and i was able to remove it easily enough allowing full access to the back of the panel.

If you look there is actually damage over to the right hand side of the picture also.

This repair was done just by using simple strategic pushes across the damaged area slowly bringing it back up to level and working out the imperfections. The whole repair was done using just one dent rod and a chain that i used as a leverage point to push the dent out. This dent took around 1 1/2 hours to complete and the owner was over the moon at how well it came out,

Here is a picture showing the tailgate again after the dent has been removed.

Another angle of the tailgate after the dent was removed.

Thanks for reading my blog.
Here is a final shot i took of the car now returned to its former glory....

Audi TT Dent Repair in Aldridge, Walsall

Audi TT dent removal in Aldridge, Walsall.

One of our regular customers called us up today to repair this dent in one of their customers cars. It was an Audi TT wing with what i would describe as a medium sized dent in the wing running through the body line. I underestimated this dent, it was actually a much more difficult repair than i had anticipated.

Note that this dent actually looks like a horizontal crease..

 The Repair Procedure

First i gained access to the back of the wing by removing the plastic wheel arch liner, once i could see i had complete access to the rear of this dent i knew i would be able to get it out (i just never realised how long it would take). I removed the dent using rods/bars specially made for massaging the dents back into shape by using the tyre on the car for maximum leverage. I used a heat gun in this repair for two main reasons, one is that it was cold and paint can easily crack in low temperatures and two this dent was actually fairly tight and heat can help to soften up the metal. In total i think this dent took me around an hour and a half to remove so certainly wasn't an easy one but i am sure you will agree that it came out really well.

The Outcome

Red is such  a terrible colour to have had painted, red cars always seem to get uv damage and they fade over the years so trying to get a good colour match is never easy. I have even seen red cars that match in the daylight but then at night under unnatural light they look a complete different colour, All in all i would say not only has this customer got a much better quality of repair but will have saved themselves the cost of having their car filled and painted in a bodyshop.
